JOHNSONBURG – The Johnsonburg Municipal Authority passed a motion to write a letter to the Johnsonburg Borough about the condition of the roads which have been worked on.
This discussion comes from a letter sent to the Authority by Johnsonburg Borough Manager Mary Polaski. In the letter, Polaski writes that the borough has concerns about roads due to work being done by contractors for the line replacement project.
Uni-Tec Consulting Engineers Project Manager Dan Guss said there are holes in certain roads which will be fixed.
“There’s a hole on the trench line about 50 feet from the intersection of Cedar. along with a couple of holes,” Guss said. “Bison (Construction) has agreed to fix the holes. He is going to repave Water Street. He agreed the places patched the first time were not successful. I think that was the main complaint from the borough.”
There was a general feeling among the Authority that the work being done was not good and certain sections were even thought of as “terrible.”
Solicitor Elizabeth Feronti will write the Borough and Bison Construction explaining the work done as well as what can be done to fix any problems.
Jerome Luhr brought photos in concerning his property and its condition. He said there is a pond that is now there. He just wanted  the authority to see the pictures of what was going on with the work done with his property.
Uni-Tec project manager Dan Guss said the construction group in charge of the project will try to alleviate the water situation.
“He’s going to deepen that ditch so there’s not standing water,” Guss said.
Authority member Robert Stump said the thought of buying a truck was removed.
“The last meeting we had we talked about this 1992 truck, we were going to fix it up for about $3,000,” Stump said. “I think we’re going to junk it. It’s not worth fixing.”
There will be a special meeting at 6 p.m. June 25 to discuss interim finances. There will also be a special meeting at 4 p.m. on July 7 for bid openings for the wastewater system upgrade project.
The foreman’s report stated the following:
n Nine PA One Calls and 15 service calls were answered.
n The Authority has all the materials for the paving.
n Dave Roman started the Market Street water line on May 26. They hit some very big rock and had to jackhammer through it. He finished on June 3.
n Dylan Nelson, Ken Gadley and Josh Woodford started work under the Stackpole Hall program.
n Commercial readers were read.
n Don Hanna of DEP was at the meeting to go over a few things.
n Mike Spangler hot patched Market Street for pavers.
n There was a water leak on June 8 on Grove Street.
n Gas lines on Bridge Street started to be replaced for National Fuel.
n DEP conducted a filter performance evaluation at Powers Run.
n Summer help has been cutting grass at all the plants, painting and cleaning.
