By Brent Addleman Editor Mayor Martin is back. At last night’s meeting of the Ridgway Borough Council, Council president Ronald Holmberg presented Mayor Jim Martin with a plaque sent to the borough by the Pennsylvania State Association of Boroughs commending the mayor on his years of service to the community of Ridgway. “Mr. Martin would you please stand,” Holmberg said as Martin has a surprised expression on his face. “I can still stand,” Martin said, drawing laughs from council members and those in attendance. Holmberg then presented the mayor with the plaque. “This is presented to James P. Martin by the Pennsylvania State Association of Boroughs in recognition of 20 or more years of dedicated service on March 24, 2009. James has 23 (years of service),” Holmberg said. “Congratulations.” “This is very nice,” Martin said very graciously after receiving the plaque. |
