Douglas Eugene Green is in police custody after being apprehended in Oklahoma. Green did not return to Elk County Prison after receiving a furlough to attend a funeral.
By Joseph Bell Record Staff Writer After going missing for approximately six days, Elk County inmate Douglas Eugene Green is in police custody after being apprehended in Oklahoma. According to Elk County Prison warden Greg Gebauer, Green was taken into custody yesterday at approximately 12 p.m. central time in Oklahoma. “They took him into custody I believe without incident,” Gebauer said. “He’ll probably be facing charges in Oklahoma so it may be awhile before we get him back.” Green had been granted a six–hour furlough from President Judge Richard A. Masson to attend a funeral in Clarion. Green was informed that he was to return to the corrections facility at 3 p.m. on April 3 but ‘did not report back to the prison as scheduled,’ according to a news release from the Ridgway Police Department. According to Gebauer, Green had been jailed for domestic relations contempt and the judge had sentenced him to 180 days incarceration. More information will be provided as the investigation is continuing. |
