Riverfront project to be discussed at council meeting.
By Brent Addleman Record Editor Expecting an overflow crowd, the Ridgway Borough Council has moved its regularly–scheduled monthly meeting for Monday, Jan. 19 to Second Ward Hose Co., located at 317 W. Main St., as the final draft of the feasibility study for the Ridgway Riverfront Conservation and Development Project will be presented by Roy Mann, ASLA Principal, of The Rivers Studio. Borough Council may or may not make a decision to accept the plan and move forth with the project. “It’s at Second Ward (Hose Co.) because of space,” said Ridgway Borough Manager Martin Schuller. “With a bigger crowd, it will be more convenient. We’ll have Roy Mann, Dale Fox, Bob Imhof and some other individuals with the presentation. This is the feasibility study. It is not the master plan.” The final draft of the study is part of a series of steps that lead to the development of the project. Schuller is confident council will accept the plan. “They can make a decision, from what I understand, to continue and finish the study and see what happens, what kind of funding is available to proceed with the funding after the entire study is done,” Schuller said. “I think council will make a decision to complete the study as part of the agreement.” |
