Johnsonburg High School senior Seth Streich has signed a National Letter of Intent to play baseball at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio.

Streich said he knew after visiting the university that Ohio was the choice.
"I think Ohio is the perfect fit," Streich said. "All in all, it's a great school and a great community. It's a small town with a big college."
When visiting Athens, Streich said he was impressed with the community.
"There, it's all about the university," Streich said. "I visited it and it's a great place. I just knew after I visited, it was a perfect fit."
Ohio's head coach is Joe Carbone, who is an Ohio graduate from the class of 1970.
"Their coach and the assistants have played at Ohio and do well with conditioning and everything," Streich said.
Streich said he looks forward to the challenge.
"It's definitely a step up from high school," Streich said. "The MAC is a good league. It will be a challenge academically and athletically. I'm going to work my tail off and do what it takes to succeed."
Streich credited his brothers, Tobias and Luke, for influencing him with baseball. Both of Seth's brothers also signed letters of intent. Luke signed with Kent State University and Tobias signed with West Virginia University.
"Right now, it's another step in where I want to go in the next few years," Streich said."
Seth said entering his senior year, he wants to improve to reach his ultimate goal.
"It's my ultimate goal to play pro baseball and get drafted into the amateur draft," Streich said. "If I get drafted, it'll be a tough decision for me."
Seth is the son of Luke Streich of Johnsonburg and Pam Streich of Ridgway. Grandparents include Fred Streich of Ridgway and Tom and Cel Pontzer of Ridgway.
