Ghouls and goblins will take over the night on Friday, but even the scariest of creatures must be aware of safety while celebrating Halloween. The American Red Cross suggests that you map out the route you plan to roam, and remember to always take a flashlight to ward off the night. The Red Cross stresses to not go into a stranger's house to accept candy, only accept candy at the door. The Red Cross also suggests to look both ways before crossing the street, be cautious of dogs, and to always remember to only visit houses with their porch lights on. Ridgway Borough Police Chief, Ralph Tettis suggests a few tips for staying safe this Friday. "Wear bright clothing for ease of visibility," Tettis said. "Trick or treat with an adult, and don't eat the candy until an adult has checked it. Also, stray from darks places, and only attend houses with their porch lights on." The Johnsonburg Borough Police Chief Bryan Parana says to make sure you have a flashlight, and to always watch when near traffic areas.
