William Fredrickson recently won a code contest by drinking Mountain Dew. This past spring, Mountain Dew started a contest where you had to buy bottles of Mountain Dew or a case that contained the green lids that contained codes. Once obtaining these lids, you then had to visit the Mountain Dew Web site, sign up, and enter the codes that were engraved in the caps. Fredrickson said that he began participating in the contest in July. He said he continuously entered in the caps he collected. He ended up entering approximately 25 caps through the Web site. This was all it took for Fredrickson to become a winner. Among prizes offered were trips to see a Nascar race or other items like an iPod, according to Fredrickson. He said that he continuously tried in the arcade category because it was appealing to him. "I chose the arcade game because it was something I always wanted," said Fredrickson. "They are pretty expensive, and I never could get one so it seemed to be the best interest for me. I was just lucky enough to win it." The arcade game is an eternal computer equipped with running Windows Xp, has an 80 GB hard drive and compatibility with existing PC software and hardware. The screen is a 22-inch wide LCD flat panel high resolution monitor with a premium 2.1 audio sound system with subwoofer, whapp controls, buttons, joy sticks, mouse, keyboard and an internet adaptor with acccess to the internet and e-mail. Fredrickson says winning this contest has changed his life. "I was always into playing the old 1980's video games, and to me it is a great gift," Fredrickson. "Ever since I won it (the arcade game), and I can't believe it. I put it into a spare room in my house, and it just added entertainment to my life." |
