Plain and Simple honored to play concert series Print E-mail
Wednesday, 16 July 2008
Ridgway duo Plain and Simple will play the Elk County Courthouse Gazebo Friday night as part of the Elk County Summer Concert Series. By Brent Addleman
Record Editor

Plain and Simple is not only the name of the band comprised of Joey Kepple and Sharon Leitzel, it is also the way they present their music.
The duo will be performing Friday night at 6:30 p.m. at the Elk County Courthouse Gazebo as part of the Elk County Summer Concert Series.
"This is our second time we've been invited," said Kepple. "It's neat because we are in our own hometown. So, you look out and see faces of friends and relatives and people that you are used to seeing because they come and support you."
Plain and Simple is a Ridgway group and is very grateful to be part of the annual concert series put on by the Elk County Council On The Arts.
"We're honored to have been asked (to play,)" Kepple said. "We feel Ridgway has come quite a ways in its blossoming of pushing the arts. It's a wonderful opportunity to come out and share this renaissance of the arts in our area."
Plain and Simple are just that. Plain and Simple. They play a mix of folk, soft rock and easy listening, but will play contemporary songs, as well.
"We are very simplistic in using acoustic guitar, tamborine, two voices, not a whole lot of instrumentation," Kepple said. "We use a lot of harmony, a lot of vocal harmony in our sound."
The group started out doing weddings and playing at Mass at church, but have now branched out a little by playing summertime concerts for clubs and organizations.
