Weitzel named MVP of All-Star Game |

Ridgway's Jerico Weitzel earned honors in the S&T Bank Altoona Curve High School All-Star Classic.
Jerico Weitzel of Ridgway was named the MVP of the inaugural S&T Bank Altoona Curve High School All-Star Classic held Sunday at Blair County Ballpark in Altoona.
Weitzel played for the Northern All-Star team which lost to the Southern All-Stars by a 9-7 score. Weitzel went 2-for-2 with two runs, two RBI and a sacrifice fly in defeat for the North.
Each team was comprised of 15 players and only graduating high school senior who were nominated by their coach or athletic director were eligible. The Northern team featured players from District 9 schools and District 6 schools in Clearfield, Centre and Clinton Counties.
The South team represented District 5 and District 6 schools in Blair, Cambria, Huntingdon, Indiana and Mifflin Counties.
