A 12-member jury delivered mostly guilty verdicts Wednesday in well over 100 individual charges against Daniel Aiello, 27, of St. Marys, stemming from a succession of camp burglaries committed in Elk, McKean, and Cameron counties between late 2010 and 2011.
The verdicts came following hours of deliberation, with the charges and jury's decision delivered individually, designated by county and camp. Some charges were listed twice on the verdict slip as Aiello was charged with burglarizing a number of camps on two separate occasions.
For his role in the camp burglaries having taken place in Elk County townships, Aiello was found guilty of 61 counts of felony burglary and criminal conspiracy to commit burglary, as well as 25 counts of theft by unlawful taking of moveable property.
The jury found Aiello "not guilty" on charges of burglary, criminal conspiracy, and theft relating to specific camps, including five in Fox Twp.
Additionally, Aiello was convicted of 14 out of 15 counts of burglary and four out of five counts of theft in McKean County, as well as eight of 28 counts of burglary and eight of 19 counts of theft in Cameron County.
