Trial begins for Mt. Jewett man charged with rape

SMETHPORT – A trial for a Mt. Jewett man charged with rape began Monday in McKean County Court, featuring the testimony of the alleged victim.
Paul Ray Swank, 33, of 7 Chestnut St., Mt. Jewett, is accused of raping a former Mt. Jewett woman who was 26 years old when the alleged incident took place on Nov. 2, 2012. The Kane Republican does not publish the names of victims involved in alleged sexual assaults.
