WILCOX – The Jones Township Supervisors approved a quote to install air conditioning for the gym in the Community Center during Monday night's meeting.
The quote from Peterson Refrigeration was approved for $3,500 by the Recreation Board earlier in the month.
"Tim Peterson [of Peterson Refrigeration] will come down and measure to come up with an exact price," said vice chair Deb Shaffer. "He will do testing to determine the draws coming from the gym and kitchen."
The incoming entrance of the Community Center will be upgraded to a newer 200 amp.
"I think that is a very wise choice," Shaffer said.
Township resident Fred Swanson asked if running a three-phase electric system to the Center was feasible.
"I talked to Tim Peterson about it," said supervisor Laurie Storrar. "He said there is no equipment up here to warrant three-phase, plus the cost to run it up would be high. I realize it's right down there at the road, but I know, three years ago, they wanted $12,000 to bring it across the road."
