Following a recommendation from the Fire, Police, Property and Equipment Committee the Ridgway Borough Council approved the use of timber sale proceeds to fund a potential site for a proposed camping area during Monday night's regular meeting.
The committee and guests reviewed a map of the potential site for a proposed wilderness campground located on borough property along Water Works Road.
Borough Manager Martin Schuller will notify solicitor David Pontzer concerning the use of timber sale proceeds to fund the project.
As stated in the committee report, in order for the borough to receive a DCNR grant for the project a feasibility study would be required.
Main Street Manager Michelle Bogacki said she would pursue funding to cover the the costs associated from the study.
