Several accidents on icy roads Wednesday

Photo by Ted Lutz – Dan Hulings of James City, a member of the Highland Township Volunteer Fire Department, was injured Wednesday morning when the Fire Utility Truck (left) he was driving collided with an 18-wheeler loaded with logs (right). The firefighter, the lone occupant in the fire truck, was responding to a multi-vehicle traffic accident on icy Route 66 at the time of the accident. He was treated at Kane Community Hospital and released.

Early morning freezing rain made travel treacherous Wednesday morning with several vehicle accidents reported throughout the area.
