JOHNSONBURG – The Johnsonburg Area School District terminated their agreement with the Central Tax Bureau [CENTAX] for the collection of the local service tax and the occupational privilege tax during the regular board of directors meeting.
Following the termination of the agreement the board promptly approved a resolution to appoint H.A. Berkheimer as the tax collector for the local service and occupational privilege taxes.
According to JASD Board Treasurer Patricia Calkins, the district has received about $35,000 of the $48,000 owed from CENTAX.
"Berkheimer is already getting the records and processing them and I don't think it will be long until they are caught up," Calkins said.
Calkins was appointed as the liaison with Berkheimer.
