JOHNSONBURG – Johnsonburg Area School District Superintendent Dennis Crotzer announced Thursday that the district received a $10,000 grant from the Elk County Community Foundation during a Board of Director's meeting.
"I am very proud to announce our school district has received a grant of $10,000 from the Elk County Community Foundation," Crotzer said. "We will use the money for new technology equipment and upgrading some of our technology equipment. I would like to [acknowledge] the foundation for this money for our school district and we are all very excited in receiving this grant."
In other business, newly-elected board member Todd Fannin was sworn in by solicitor Mark Jacob.
In addition, Jacob resigned from his position as solicitor after being recently elected to the position of Magisterial District Judge, which prohibits him from continuing to serve as solicitor for the Johnsonburg Area School District.
Crotzer acknowledged Jacob for his service to the district.
"I appreciate not just the time you put into this position, but with the elementary school as well," Crotzer said. "Anytime I needed advice you were always there and I really do appreciate everything you did and speaking on behalf of the district we will miss you and you are always welcome to come back. I truly do appreciate everything you have done for our district."
