JOHNSONBURG – The Johnsonburg Area School District hired three elementary teachers Thursday night during a special board of education meeting held at the high school library.
Daniele Carnessali was hired as an elementary teacher, masters step 4, at a salary of $44,200, effective the start of the 2012-2013 school year.
Cassie Kriegelwas hired as an elementary teacher, bachelors step 3, at a salary of $42,000, effective the start date of the 2012-2013 school year.
Andrew Yost was approved as an elementary teacher, bachelors step 1, at a salary of $37,500, also effective the start of the 2012-2013 school year.
In an effort to prevent a potential overcrowding in the kindergarten class, directors granted permission to Superintendent Dennis Crotzer to hire a fourth teacher "if the kindergarten enrollment dictates the need."
"A concern was raised about the number of kindergarten students and whether we needed another teacher and Dennis [Crotzer] has promised that he was going to watch the numbers and decide whether we are going to hire another teacher or not," said board president Robert Paladino. "The numbers still aren't there."
