Russell Adelbert Bundy
Russell Adelbert Bundy, age 80, of 56 McLaughlin Rd., died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2011 at his residence. He was born Dec. 14, 1930, in Brockport, son of Rueben and Emma Fossler Bundy. On Aug. 30, 1950, he Mabel Rogers; she died Dec. 21, 2006 and they enjoyed 56 years of marriage. He was a member of the Brockport United Methodist Church where he was active for most of his life. Russell was a 1948 graduate of the Horton High School. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He could fix or repair just about anything and enjoyed tinkering in his basement workshop, woodworking, traveling, going for car rides, singing, working in his garden and watching the Steelers. He worked as a Maintenance Mechanic at Owens Illinois for 45 years before retiring. He is survived by one daughter, Sandra (William) Cherubini of Brockport; five grandchildren, William Cherubini Jr of Brockway, Christopher (Barb) Cherubini of Brockport, Alison (Jamie) Storey of Monroeville, Carla (Barry) Fillman of Magnolia, Del. and Dawn (Scott) Anderson of Brockway. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren. The youngest of 11 children, he was the last surviving member of his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; a son, Gary Bundy; and a daughter, Karen Marie Bundy. He is also preceeded in death by five sisters, Dorothy and Beatrice Bundy, Frances Duty, Gladys Leonard and Mary Pennino; and five brothers, Kenneth, Homer, Howard, Gerald and Glenn Bundy. He is also preceeded in death by a great-grandaughter, Sophia Fillman. Visitation will be Wednesday, Feb. 16 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Carlson-Shugarts, Funeral Home Inc., 1033 4th Avenue Brockway, Pa. 15824.Funeral Services will be Thursday, Feb. 17 at Brockport United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. Officiating Clergyman will be Pastor Joni Williams. A Committal Service will follow at the cemetery. Place Of Burial will be Morningside Cemetery in DuBois.
