Rose Marie Guidice

Rose Marie Guidice, age 96, died Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 4, 2013, surrounded by her family at Ridgmont Assisted Living Facility where she had resided happily for many years.
She was born June 30, 1917 in Johnsonburg, daughter of the late Antonio and Pasqualina (Albenese) Defranco. She was married to Frank Guidice who preceded her in death. She had resided in Ridgway for several years and was a member of St. Leo Catholic Church. She enjoyed cake decorating, sewing, cooking, and her nightly bowl of ice cream. She had resided for many decades in Detroit, Mich., while there she had been employed by Hutzel Women's Hospital for 26 years.
She is survived by one son, Gerald Guidice of Ridgway; two daughters, Angela (Donald) McDonald in Mich., Frances (John) Rutherford in Mich.; a granddaughter, Dana Rose Guidice of Ridgway; and many other grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as many other loving nieces and nephews, along with their children, one sister, Josephine (Frank, "Chick") Quattrone of Ridgway; and a brother, Fred Defranco of St. Marys. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Dominic (Mickey) Guidice; a daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Guidice; two brothers, Roy and Ralph Defranco; two sisters, Nicolena Marks, Angeline Petro; and a sister-in-law Monica Defranco.
A Memorial Mass for Rose Marie Guidice will be celebrated at St. Leo Catholic church on Saturday at 11 a.m. Officiating will be Fr. Brian E. Vossler, pastor of St. Leo Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Holy Rosary Cemetery in Johnsonburg at a later date. Friends will be received in the Gathering Space at St. Leo Catholic church from 10 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Mass at 11 a.m. Memorials, if desired, may be made to Capuchin Mission Association at 1820 Mt. Elliott St., Detroit, Mich., 48207. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Thompson Funeral home.
