Robert M. "Herky" Colgan

Robert M. "Herky" Colgan, age 79, of 451 Rattlesnake Rd., Brockway, died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2011, at DuBois Regional Medical Center.
He was born March 17, 1931, in Brockway to Doyle and Mary Harvey Colgan.
On April 9, 1951, he married Patricia Siple, she survives.
He was a member of the Lanes Mills U.M. Church, a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Sugar Hill Grange and the Toby Creek Watershed Association. He also belonged to the National Rifle Association.
Herky enjoyed hunting, fishing and bowling. He also liked to work in his garden, especially growing garlic and horseradish with his son Tom.
He had been employed as a Truck Driver for Cramer Lumber in Brockway for 10 years and retired as Store Room Manager at Brockway Glass after 32 years.
He is survived by two sons, Robert M. (Diane) Colgan of Ridgway and Thomas M. (Laura) Colgan of Brockway; one daughter, Ruth "Annie" (Ron) Waters of Mansfield; one brother, Raymond Colgan of DuBois; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild with another great-grandchild expected in June.
Besides his parents and infant brother, he is predeceased by three sisters, Elaine Wales, Irene Daughenbaugh and Katherine Sheley.
Calling hours will be private and at the convience of the family. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2010 at Lanes Mills United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. with Pastor Maggie Foreman presiding.
Place of burial will beBeechwoods Cemetery.
