Robert Clair Rishel

Robert Clair Rishel, 84, of Shenango Presbyterian Senior Care in New Wilmington, formerly of New Bedford, Lawrence County, died Tuesday morning Sept. 25, 2012. He was born Nov. 16, 1927 in Rossiter, Indiana County, son of late Thomas and Minnie [Woodley] Rishel. On July 20, 1948, he married Mae Jean Wyant of Shenango Presbyterian Senior Care, she survives.
He retired in 1984 from Heckert Engineering as a site superintendent and was a U.S. Army World War II veteran. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church of New Bedford, F & AM Lodge in Owensboro, Ky. and the Consistory also in Owensboro and the New Bedford Lions Club. He enjoyed fishing, camping and boating.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Jeannie Allenbaugh [Richard] of Ridgway, Janie [Bob] Brier of Kennesaw, Ga. and Kelly Boyd [Michael] of New Wilmington; three brothers, Thomas Rishel of Baden, Jack Rishel of Springfield, N.Y. and David Rishel of Edinburg; four grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Mildred Robbins; and three brothers, Thorn "Pete," Wade and Joseph Rishel.
Funeral Services for Robert Clair Rishel will be held at the New Bedford Presbyterian Church on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012 at 11 a.m. Officiating will be family friend and pastor Bill Beck. Visitation will be held at 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 28 at the Smith Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Barton Chapel Cemetery in Sparkle Mills.
