Road work to begin soon

July 13, 2011

Road work will soon commence in Spring Creek Township after Jefferson Paving Corp. submitted the lowest bid Monday night during a Board of Supervisors meeting.
Jefferson Paving out of Brookville gave a bid of $55,208.58. The company was followed by Russell Standard Corp. out of Union City for $61,820.15 and New Enterprise Stone & Lime, Co., Inc. for $66,898.80.
"I'm not sure how soon we're ready for them but when [township road worker] Don [Hamberger] is ready for them, they can start any time they want," said supervisor Richard Wittman. "They're going to take care of Bear Creek Road and they're going to do Baughman Hill Road because of damages that occurred there last year, and that willl put that location out of the rotation for a while because it just got done.
"Had it not been for the damage, it wouldn't be done for another three years."
