Ridgway soccer lost 5-0 to Port Allegany Tuesday afternoon at Francis S. Grandinetti Elementary School in Ridgway.
Port scored in the 10th minute as Elliott Binder ripped a penalty kick into the back of the net.
Scott Brookens scored less than two minutes later for the Gators to make the margin 2-0.
With 26:51 left in the fist half, Eli Knapp upped the lead to 3-0. Brookens added a goal right before halftime to make the lead 4-0.
Brookens scored again midway through the second half for Port’s fifth goal.
Josh Braley hit a shot which went off the crossbar for Ridgway with nine minutes left in the second half. Ridgway also had a good opportunity early in the game as a shot off a corner kick was deflected off the line by a Port Allegany defender.
Ridgway coach John Ogden said the team is still a work in progress with the majority of the season still ahead of them.
Ridgway will play in the Elk County Soccer Tournament as the Elkers will host St. Marys at 3:30 p.m. Friday.
