Ridgway Major League softball one win from D-10 North title

The Ridgway Major League softball all-stars are one win from the District 10 North Division title after an 11-5 win over Bradford Saturday at the Ridgway Little League fields.
Ridgway will host a game on Wednesday at 6 p.m. against the team which comes out of the loser's bracket.
Bradford opened the game with a pair of runs as Ashley Stoltz scored on a wild pitch and Bryn Manion scored on a Ridgway error.
Ridgway was able to get those two runs back in the bottom of the first inning. Caitlyn Viglione singled with one out. Julie Alford reached base as a fielder's choice was unsuccessful for Bradford. Britnee Thorwart then roped a 2-run double to score teammates Viglione and Alford and tie the game.
Ridgway began to take charge in the second inning after Bradford was retired in order in the top half. Jaylie Johnson singled to lead off the inning. After a strikeout, Macy Herzog reached on a Bradford error and Johnson came all the way around to score and put Ridgway ahead 3-2. Sydney White and Viglione hit back-to-back singles. Alford laced a 2-run double to score White and Viglione. Alford scored on a single from Hannah Park to put Ridgway ahead 6-2.
Ridgway continued to add to the lead with two more runs in the third. Maddie Herzing was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning. After a flyout to first, Emily Catalano and Herzog were both walked to load the bases. White walked to plate Herzing and Kylee Wall also walked, scoring Catalano.
In the fourth, Thorwart led off with a triple and scored on a fielder's choice off the bat of Kylee Goetz, making the Ridgway lead 9-2 after four innings.
Ridgway scored two more runs in the fifth to make the margin 11-2. Bradford came back with three runs in the sixth. Amber Greeley walked and later scored on a wild pitch. Liz Platko walked with the bases loaded to score Tiffany Bair and Emily Smith hit into a fielder's choice to score Stoltz.
Thorwart and Viglione each had two hits apiece. White, Alford, Park and Johnson each had one hit. Alford led Ridgway with three runs scored, Catalano and Viglione each crossed home plate twice.
