The Good Samaritan Food Bank of Ridgway is in desperate need of food and volunteers.
The food bank located behind the Ridgway BiLo in the basement of the Knights of Columbus building has been serving the community for over 30 years.
According to volunteer Jean Gier, the food bank feeds between 100 and 150 families each month.
"We are in need of both workers and food," Gier said. "It was back in the early 80's or late 70's when it started and the ministerial association decided each church was going to take care of one month but now people in those churches have gotten so old they can't do it and they don't have the people there that can do it so we are really hurting for people to pack boxes."
