Authorities in Ridgway are investigating a fire that broke out Sunday night, Feb. 5, at approximately 8:30 p.m. along Depot Street.
According to reports, the 3-story brick apartment building at 260 Depot St., owned by Joseph Aiello of Ridgway, was destroyed.
Greg Agosti, a Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal, along with officers at the Ridgway Police Department and the Ridgway Fire Department, are investigating the origin of the blaze.
The apartment building was vacant at the time of the fire and had been uninhabited since September 2011. The cause of the fire is under investigation and damage is estimated at $300,000. While the building is a total loss, no injuries were reported.
Anyone with information regarding this fire is asked to contact the Pa. State Police Fire Marshal at 814-776-6136.
The St. Marys and Johnsonburg Fire Departments assisted the Ridgway Fire Department in battling the blaze. The Fox Township Fire Department stood by in Ridgway.
