Ridgway advances to quarterfinals with first-round win

Ridgway guard Josh Roselli rises for a jump shot against Clarion Wednesday night in first-round playoff action. Roselli had 17 points as the Elkers advanced to the quarterfinals with a 58-32 victory.

Ridgway used a strong second half to pull away for a 58-32 victory over Clarion Wednesday night at Ridgway Area High School in the first round of the District 9 Class A boys basketball playoffs.
The 11th-seeded Bobcats (11-12) hung around in the first half and trailed just 20-15 at halftime. Ridgway would take control in the third quarter scoring as many points (20) in the third quarter as the Elkers did in the first half combined.
