Regina A. Korep

Regina A. Korep, 89, of Cushing Avenue in Johnsonburg and recently of Elk Haven Nursing Home, died Saturday, July 16, 2011 at Elk Haven Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.
She was born March 12, 1922 in Johnsonburg, daughter of the late Hipolit and Rosie (Brzostik) Korep.
She lived all her life in the same house on Cushing Avenue in Johnsonburg and was a graduate of Johnsonburg High School. She worked at Stackpole Carbon. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, the Red Hat Society and the local polka club. She enjoyed dancing and traveling.
She is survived by a sister, Bertha Lang of Warren, and several nieces, nephews and cousins, including Edward and Shirley Flacinski. 
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Thomas Korep, and two sisters, Jenny Denk and Pauline Vesel.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Regina A. Korep will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 20 at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Johnsonburg, with Father David Wilson as celebrant. Interment will take place at Holy Rosary Cemetery, Johnsonburg.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 20 from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Ubel Funeral Home in Johnsonburg.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Johnsonburg Senior Center or Holy Rosary Church.
