RASD still working budget

May 1, 2014

The Ridgway Area School District is still considering the one mill tax increase for the 2014-15 school year, which was originally proposed during the April School Board meeting. If passed, the increase will have the potential to raise $89,500 in revenue.
The preliminary budget being worked at this time totals $12,590,192 in expenditures, down from the $12,676,308 proposed earlier this month.
As state-mandated fringe benefits, including retirement payments and health care costs, have continued to rise, the district has been searching for possible cuts throughout the budget making process.
