As the November general election approaches the Ridgway Area School District has updated their website to further assist voters who are still uncertain whether to vote in favor of increasing their earned income tax in order to eliminate the occupation tax.
At a special meeting held Aug. 7 the board voted to place the following Act 130 referendum on the November 6 election ballot:
"Do you favor eliminating the Ridgway Area School District's existing occupation tax and replacing that revenue by increasing the maximum rate of the Ridgway Area School District's existing earned income tax by 0.4 percent, to a maximum rate of 1.4 percent?"
