Ramettes lose to Bradford

JOHNSONBURG – Johnsonburg volleyball lost 3-0 (25-10, 25-16, 25-17) against Bradford in action at Johnsonburg Area High School Thursday night.
After winning the first set by a 25-10 score, Bradford scored the first two points of the second set before the Ramettes answered with two of their own, highlighted by a Chelsea Benson kill. The teams then alternated the next four points before Johnsonburg scored three of the next four to take a 7-5 lead.
Bradford rallied back to tie the set at 8-all, then scored two in a row to take a 10-8 lead. Johnsonburg had a pair of kills from Katie Galsick to tie the set at 10-all. Bradford scored three in a row to take a 13-10 lead, prompting a Johnsonburg timeout.
The Ramettes were within one at 14-13 and within two at 17-15 before an 8-1 run lead put Bradford up two sets after a 25-16 win in the second set.
Bradford had built the lead to 13-6 in the third set before the Ramettes then called timeout.
At 18-12, the teams split the next four points to make the margin 20-14 before the Lady Owls outscored Johnsonburg 5-3 at the end of the set to make the margin 25-17.
Johnsonburg is slated to host St. Marys at 6 p.m. next Tuesday.
