JOHNSONBURG – Johnsonburg girls basketball won 41-26 over Ridgway Wednesday night at Johnsonburg Area High School.
Defense ruled the first quarter as the Ramettes held just a 4-2 lead after four minutes of play.
"Our defense, I was really proud of how the girls were playing defense," Ridgway coach Stacy Kifer said. "They're really stepping it up. What we need to do is we need to try to get the offense tweaked now. We got to work on our rebounding, we still have to get position and get these girls to recognize weak-side rebounding."
Chelsea Benson opened the scoring with a layup in the first minute and then added another hoop off a Ridgway turnover a minute later for a 4-0 lead. Benson led all scorers with 17 points for the Ramettes.
