R. Wayne Black

R. Wayne Black, 85, of Powers Ave., Johnsonburg, died Thursday, Dec. 2, 2010 at Elk Regional Health Center after a short illness.
He was born Dec. 17, 1924 in Johnsonburg, son of the late James and Leoda (Myers) Black.
He married Carol Rimer on April 26, 1974, and she survives.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two nephews, David and Douglas Black.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, James Black Jr.
Black was a retired veteran of the U.S. Army. He attended Johnsonburg schools and was retired from the Johnsonburg Paper Mill after 47 years. He was a member of Johnsonburg First Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon for many years. He lived all his life in Johnsonburg.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Ubel Funeral Home in Johnsonburg with Pastor Robert Johnson. Interment will be in Wardvale Methodist Cemetery in Johnsonburg.
Visitation will be at the Ubel Funeral Home in Johnsonburg on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m.
The family suggests memorials to the Johnsonburg First Baptist Church.
