The Johnsonburg School Board approved the 2012-2013 general fund budget in the amount of $10,669,124.00. The contract for the general fund budget was accepted as presented.Board member Todd Fannin reported he is addressing a school lunch related issue to State Representative Matt Gabler due to the mandated increase in portion sizes of fruits and vegetables. Fannin argued the stipulations will cost the district more long term and wants to review it further. The approval to hire eight PHEAA/Stackpole Hall summer workers at a wage of $7.25 per hour, 40 hours per week for eight weeks with the district being responsible for 10 percent of the total cost was accepted. Crotzer intends to utilize the employees to the fullest. “I ensure the PHEAA students will work,” said Crotzer. “I have a few goals in mind like getting a supply list together and maintain the outside of the facilities.”Pick up a copy of the Friday, April 6, 2012 edition of The Ridgway Record for more.Next meeting:Johnsonburg Area School District Board of DirectorsWhen: May 10, 2012Where: High School Information CenterTime: 6:30 p.m.
