PSP trooper shot in Brockway

BROCKWAY – A Pa. State Police trooper was shot in the neck Thursday afternoon while serving a warrant at a Cemetery Hill Road residence in Brockway, according to police who called it an "active shooter" situation.
PSP reported that at approximately 2:30 p.m., two troopers were serving a warrant to man at 1881 Cemetery Hill Rd. in Brockway when shots rang out.
One trooper was hit in the neck and the other reportedly pulled him to safety. The injured law enforcement was flown from the scene to UPMC Altoona at 3:15 p.m.; he was reportedly in stable condition and conscious.
The shooter was reportedly holed up in the home as of late Thursday evening. A State Police SERT [Special Emergency Response Team] group was still surrounding the home at the time.
Cemetery Hill Road and the area known as "Cemetery Hill" remained blocked off throughout the evening, according to WJAC-TV.
Schools in Brockway were reportedly in "lockdown" for approximately four hours before being released to their parents or transported home on buses.
