Prison meets regulations, generates $100K
Elk County Prison Board officials met Tuesday morning for their quarterly board meeting and reviewed several items, including a recent audit and 100-percent compliance through a state inspection."The audit of the Elk County Prison funds was done by the Elk County auditors at the beginning of this year and everything was OK with all the accounts," said Elk County Prison Warden Gregory J. Gebauer. "For 2011, the prison generated $122,178.60. The prison was inspected by the state Department of Corrections on April 10 and we received 100-percent compliance. "This means that everything was found to be in 100-percent [compliance] of state regulations and laws. Because of the 100-percent compliance we will not be inspected again until 2014. It was a combined effort with the staff here and they really did a good job."Pick up a copy of the Wednesday, May 2, 2012 edition of The Ridgway Record for more.Elk County Prison BoardWhen: Tuesday, Aug. 7Where: Courthouse Annex, Conference Room No. 2Time: 9 a.m.
