JOHNSONBURG – The Johnsonburg Borough Council discussed the borough's shortage of police officers during their regular meeting held Monday afternoon.
"We are in desperate need of part-time police officers," said Bryan Parana, chief of police. "It's becoming a real problem."
However, finding part-time hires has proved to be difficult.
"You get nobody interested unless it's a full-time position and all the benefits that come with that," said Parana in response to why the borough could be having trouble finding officers. "We need dedication and we need stability and the only way you can really achieve that is through full-time."
