Police, council stress citizen involvement in persisting drug problem

Local citizens have consistently approached the Ridgway Borough Council concerning drug problems in their various neighborhoods over the past several months. However, the problem still persists.
More citizens expressed concern during a recent council meeting, many of whom came to report they were finding used syringes near their homes and observing suspicious activities at some residences throughout Ridgway.
Ralph Tettis, police chief in Ridgway, reported police had found four syringes throughout the streets within the past two weeks. Councilman Frank Quattrone also added that one had been found outside a county employee's vehicle as well.
