BROCKPORT – The Horton Township Board of Supervisors approved a motion to rename the former Brockport Playground to the Jim Cristini Memorial Park.
Vice chairman Levi P. Donahue made the motion to rename the park and said a sign will be designed in the near future in memory of Cristini.
"I was surprised when I read his obituary of all of the things he had done," said Dan Lines. "We lost a great man."
In other business, a new fire truck for the Horton Township Volunteer Fire Department has arrived, said fire chief Chad Guaglianone.
According to Guaglianone, the truck was delivered last Friday and is at the station.
"We are in the process of transferring equipment and getting things mounted," Guaglianone said. "I certainly extend the invitation for any of the general public to take a look at it when they get the chance."
Guaglianone reported six car wrecks, six QRS calls, one public service call and a standby assignment in Brockway in January.
Officials approved the use of the municipal building again to hold elections, but said the garage will be off limits.
Secretary Dennis Thompson said he receives a letter twice a year requesting the use of the building for the election.
Spring Cleanup will be held on Saturday, April 21 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
