Phyllis (Ma) Gardner

Phyllis (Ma) Gardner, 78, of 5239 Montmorenci Rd., Ridgway, went to be with the Lord Sept. 11, 2013, surrounded by her loving family following a brief illness.
She was born May 16, 1935 in Ridgway, daughter of the late Lola Luchs.
She married Ronald (Ug) Gardner on Oct. 15, 1950, he preceded her in death on May 16, 1987.
She had resided in Ridgway all of her life and was a member of the Faith United Church of Christ where she was very active and loved her church family. She had been a homemaker who lived for her kids and grandkids. She was a devoted fan and concession stand cook for the Ridgway football programs for the past 30 years.
Ma is survived by 16 children: Mag Gardner, Ronnie (Wendy) Gardner, Connie (Jerry) Gardner, Doug (Vesta) Gardner, Lori Gardner Dush, Denise (Jeff) Johnson, Terry Gardner, Pork Gardner, Denny (Doreen) Gardner, Danny Gardner, Mark (Pam) Gardner, Larry (Lori) Gardner, Jody (Miranda) Gardner, Jamie Gardner, Jenny (Ty) Gardner, Josh (Lisa) Gardner, and a special nephew and 17th child, Don Carr; grandchildren: Linette and Katie Gardner, Aaron and Korin Gardner, Casey Gardner (Roger), Jason (Tammy), Kris (Christine), Brian (Karrie), Adam (Cassandra) Gardner, Jacob (Ashley), Heather (Jeff) Gardner, Jeff Johnson (Shari), Heidi Rudolph (Rudy), Sara Gardner (Andy), Jackie Moyer (Brad), Erica Heatherdale (Jason), Zack Gardner (Laura), Brandon, Kelsey, Tyler, Morgan Gardner, Thor Gardner, Damon Smith, Nick Gardner (Emily), Kimberly (Jake), Dylan Gardner (Cassandra), Allen (Eddie) Weyant, Krystal Duchi, Dalton McDermott, Nate Mahoney, Tia Bloom; great-grandchildren: Justin Hall, Frankie Gardner (Logan), Jeremiah Amacher, Thaddeus, Haley, Jack, Luke Gardner, Krystan, Alex, Breezy Gardner, Keyona, Jayden, Braxton Gardner, Alyssa Gardner, Olivia Barker, Alyssa Barker, Noah, Tegyn Gardner, Maddie Moyer, Aiden Gardner, Teddie, Landyn Gardner, Bradley, Ryan, Alex Nussbaum; one great-great-grandson, Isaac Schloder; one sister, Kaye Butterfuss; one brother, John (Sonny) Luchs; numerous nieces and nephews, and special friends including Betty Schogren. Besides her mother and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Joanne Krise and Shirley Carr.
Funeral and Committal Services for Ma Gardner will be held at the Faith United Church of Christ on Monday at 11 a.m. Officiating will be Rev. J. Stephen Fair, Pastor of the Faith United Church of Christ and Ronald Burkett, Pastor of the Hallton Church. Burial will follow at Oakmont Cemetery. Friends will be received at the Thompson Funeral Home on Sunday from 3 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Ridgway Rocket Football, c/o Lisa Dush, 891 Shelvey Summit Rd., Ridgway, Pa. 15853 or to Ridgway Elker Football, c/o Missy Stark, 6033 Grant Rd.
