No foul play in DuBois County Club fire

DuBOIS – A lengthy investigation conducted regarding the cause of a fire that razed the DuBois Country Club in late February indicates the fire was accidental.
The joint investigation was conducted between the Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal Unit and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) out of the Pittsburgh field office.
PSP fire investigators reportedly recovered video surveillance equipment from within the fire debris. The system was reportedly in place and operable at the time of the fire, and the system was examined at the PSP Regional Crime Laboratory in Harrisburg.
According to Corporal Greg Agosti, a PSP fire marshal, recordings leading up to and after the fire were recovered from hard drives within the system.
Agosti said the video evidence shows that the fire ignited in a storage room located off of the kitchen area after closing on evening of Feb. 23.
