Keeping up with consistent demand over the years, the Ridgway YMCA is installing a new class at its facility along North Broad Street in downtown Ridgway.
Jennifer Stolburg is back at the site teaching a new-age step aerobic class.
"Step & Sculpt is a new cardio fitness class that is being offered," said Mary Lynne Bellotti, executive director at the Ridgway YMCA. "This new program is designed for both men & women and is suitable for all ages. This exercise session is done to choreographed rhythmic music and is step designed.
"If you like step aerobics you will love this heart pumping class. Not only is this a fun workout, but it will help you lose weight while sculpting your entire body."
The effective physical exercise is performed by stepping up, onto, and down from a portable platform provided by the facility.
"Each step can be tailored to your liking by adding risers under the step," Bellotti said. "To sculpt the body hand weights, balls and bands will be added as well. Step & Sculpt will help improve balance and posture while relieving stress which will in turn enhance a positive mental attitude."
The class starts today from 6-7 p.m.
