Nathan E. "Ed" Bean

Nathan E. "Ed" Bean, 76, of Harborcreek Township, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, June 5, 2012.
He was born in Erie, Oct. 1, 1935, a son of the late Carl and Eileen Hall Bean.
Ed was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a master plumber and a member of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 47. He was a Cleveland Indians and Penn State football fan, a member of Carl Neff Post 571 and a Civil War and World War II buff. He also coached Bay City Football and Harborcreek Little League and was active with Boy Scout Troop 151. He enjoyed John Deere tractors.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth Bean in 1996, and a brother, Tom Bean.
Survivors include his wife and "The Love of his Life," Mary Ives Bean, whom he married in 1997; two daughters, Lisa, husband Tom Dougan, of Harborcreek Township and Linda Johnson, husband Dan of Ridgway; two sons, Mike Bean, wife Alicia, and Jerry Bean, wife Jodie, all of Harborcreek Township; a stepson, Ken Stossmeister of Millcreek Township; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren with another due in August; four brothers, Joe Bean, wife Barb, of Waterford, Dick Bean, wife Betty of Cranesville, John Pat Bean of Erie and Dan Bean, wife Jackie, of Cranesville; and a sister, Sharon "Sherry," husband Dave Heidecker of Erie. Many cousins, nieces and nephews also survive.
