Mytrle B. Ewings

Mytrle B. Ewings, age 98, a resident of the Lutheran Home at Kane, died Friday morning, Oct. 11, 2013 following a lengthy illness.
She was born Aug. 27, 1915 in Ridgway, daughter of the late Benton C. and Margaret (Evans) Wilson. She married Leland W. Ewings on June 27, 1941. He preceded her in death on Feb. 11, 1993.
She had resided in Ridgway all of her life and was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, the E.L.C.W., the church retired group, and a member of the Ridgway Senior Citizens Center.
She is survived by one sister, Shirley McCoy of Treasure Lake, and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Sue Ann Simpson; seven brothers, Cliffton, Gerald, Milton, Lyle, Wesley, Wilbur and Marshall Wilson; and one sister, Eula Briggs.
Funeral and committal services for Myrtle B. Ewings will be held at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church on Monday, Oct. 14 at 10 a.m. Officiating will be Rev. John Miller, Pastor of the Christ Lutheran Church in DuBois. Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Gardens. There will be no visitation. Memorials, if desired, can be made to the First Evangelical Lutheran Church. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Thompson Funeral Home.
