Mystery liquid prevalent in Jones Twp. backyards

JONES TWP. – Homeowners along Marvin Street in Wilcox have been concerned about the presence of a fowl smelling brown liquid in their yards which they think might be sewage.
A Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection water quality specialist visited the problem area along Marvin Street Tuesday morning following multiple complaints by residents. The DEP specialist was joined on the scene by Sewage Enforcement Officer Russ Braun, Jones Township Supervisor Laurie Storrar, Elk County Commissioner Dan Freeburg, and several concerned homeowners in the area.
