Myra F. Sarson, 78, of Ava, formerly of State College, died Wednesday, May 14, 2014.
She was born Sept. 9, 1935 in Altoona.
Myra is survived by three children, Brian E. Sarson of Ava and wife Aggie; Carolyn Sarson of Lynchburg, Va. and partner Terry Bettinger; and Melanie Gatehouse of Erie and husband Tom; four grandchildren, Brandy, Colleen, Michelle and Tom Jr.; seven great-grandchildren; and one brother, Malcolm Freeman of Belton, Texas.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Byron Vincent Freeman and Mildred Arlene Freeman. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Gene E. Sarson. They were married Aug. 16, 1958.
Funeral services for Myra F. Sarson will be held Saturday, May 17 at 11 a.m. at Ava United Methodist Church. Family visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until service time. Services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, 407 NE 5th St., Ava, Mo. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
