Mural honors Johnsonburg veterans

Photo by Katherine Porter – The first half of Copella's veterans-inspired mural was recently completed and can be seen on the side of Johnsonburg's VFW Post 6301, located at 501 Market St.

JOHNSONBURG – Local artist Tom Copella is back at it, currently working on a large-scale mural dedicated to the veterans of Johnsonburg on the side of VFW Post 6301, located at 501 Market St.
The inspiration for the mural, which was commissioned by the Johnsonburg Community Trust and funded by friends and relatives of the late George Cherry, came from a Norman Rockwell painting titled "War Stories," that was featured in an October 1945 edition of the Saturday Evening Post.
