Works superintendent Carl Gosnell announced during a meeting Thursday night that the Ridgway Township Municipal Authority has initiated their recently adopted flushing plan.
Authority members adopted the plan during the July meeting.
"We have initiated our flushing plan that has been approved by DEP [Department of Environmental Protection] and we will be implementing the flushing plan until further notice," Gosnell said.
The plan was initiated as a preventative measure to remove excess chlorine and other byproducts from the water system.
According to the plan, flushing will be initiated when water temperatures exceed 60 degrees Fahrenheit.
In other business, authority members are considering extending a water line along Water Works Road in an effort to increase water pressure to a few customers.
"I think they should extend the line and put more people on to give them the pressure they deserve without having to pay for it," said authority member Bill Briggs.
