Municipal Authority discusses water issues for the borough

August 5, 2014

The Ridgway Borough Municipal Authority met Tuesday at the municipal building in Ridgway to discuss a new project involving pumping water from the Clarion River, as well as to discuss updated budget issues, which included discussions on the borough's water rates.
John Urmann and Paul Reed visited the authority meeting from Allegheny Water Technology to request permission to use borough land for a new pump that will pump water out of the Clarion River for use in gas drilling.
The project will include three withdraw sites along the Clarion River, which includes a site on borough property near the sewage treatment facility, according to Urmann.
