Mona C. Assalone

Mona C. Assalone, 80, of Melio Lane, Weedville died Saturday, December 25, 2010 at Pinecrest Manor following a short illness.
She was born August 23, 1930 in St. Marys, daughter of the late Anson and Ethel (Allen) Harlan.
She married Albert Assalone Sr. on April 30, 1949. He preceded her in death on Dec. 25, 1987.
She lived all her life in St. Marys and Bennetts Valley. She was a homemaker and a member of Shiloh Presbyterian Church in St. Marys and also attended Weedville Wesleyan Church.
She enjoyed babysitting for family and friends, and especially taking a Sunday drive in the car.
She is survived by two children, Larry Assalone of Weedville and Albert “Bo” Assalone of St. Marys; two grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Lee Sidelinger of Byrnedale.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by three sisters, Ollie Wolf, Ilene Wonderling and Kathleen Rollick; a brother, Howard Harlan; and a son, Timothy Allen Assalone.
Funeral services for Mona C. Assalone will be held on Thursday, Dec. 30 at 11 a.m. at the Ralph M. Geer Funeral Home, Penfield, with Pastor Scott Wiest officiating. Interment will be at the Morningside Cemetery in DuBois.
Visitation will take place Wednesday, Dec. 29 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday, Dec. 30 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Ralph M. Geer Funeral Home.
